The Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-AP Series is the system we install most often in Brisbane bedrooms and living areas. It pairs a full inverter compressor with Dual Barrier Coating and a Quiet Mode fan setting that drops to 18dB(A) on the 2.5kW model, so it works hard through a humid February without dominating the room.
Every price below is a supplied-and-installed price from Hart Air, including GST, based on a standard back-to-back low-set installation.

MSZ-AP price list by capacity
Supplied and installed by Hart Air across Brisbane and the Moreton Bay region.
| Capacity | Typically suits | Replacement (from) | Fresh installation (from) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5kW | Bedroom or study | $2,100 | $2,100 |
| 3.5kW | Large bedroom or small living area | $2,280 | $2,280 |
| 4.2kW | Living area or master suite | $2,500 | $2,500 |
| 5kW | Living or open-plan area | $2,700 | $2,900 |
| 6kW | Open-plan living and dining | $2,900 | $3,100 |
| 7kW | Large open-plan area | $3,200 | $3,400 |
| 8kW | Very large or west-facing space | $3,700 | $3,900 |
All prices are "from" prices, include GST, and are based on a standard back-to-back low-set installation. Site conditions such as extra pipe run, two-storey access, brackets or switchboard upgrades may change the final figure — we confirm everything in writing before we book the job.
Systems from 5kW up show two prices because they usually need a dedicated electrical circuit. A replacement reuses the circuit already feeding your old unit, while a fresh installation includes a licensed electrician running a new dedicated circuit from your switchboard. Key features of the MSZ-AP Series
Taken from Mitsubishi Electric Australia's published product information.
- Quiet Mode and Night Mode
A dedicated Quiet Mode fan setting takes the MSZ-AP25 down to 18dB(A) in heating mode. Night Mode dims the LED display, disables the alert beep and softens the outdoor unit by up to 3dB.
- Dual Barrier Coating
A coating on the internal surfaces reduces the build-up of dust, greasy dirt and airborne contaminants, so the unit stays cleaner for longer and is easier to clean when it is serviced.
- Built-in Wi-Fi control
Operate the system from a smartphone, tablet or online account anywhere you have an internet connection. Availability varies by model — we confirm it for your chosen capacity.
- Full inverter with R32 refrigerant
Fine control of compressor frequency improves comfort and cuts energy use across the heating and cooling range. R32 delivers higher efficiency than R410A with around one third of the global warming potential.

Built for Brisbane homes

Brisbane's problem is rarely raw heat alone — it is heat plus humidity. The MSZ-AP's full inverter holds a steady low compressor speed once the room is at temperature, which strips moisture out of the air rather than blasting cold and stopping.
The 2.5kW model carries a 5.5 star average cooling rating, so a bedroom system is genuinely cheap to run overnight. Larger models trade some star rating for reach, which is why sizing to the room matters more than buying the biggest unit you can afford.
We handle the full job: installation, servicing and repairs. For a deeper look at this range, read our Mitsubishi Electric AP Series review.
